It’s been over seven months since my last trip to Walt Disney World—and I’ve had to cancel not one, but two planned visits since then. While I don’t necessarily miss the characters, attractions, or even the fireworks, I do find myself dreaming about the snacks!
Lately, when I plan my Disney trips, I notice I’m building my itinerary around food—especially new restaurants and seasonal treats. So since I’m missing some of my all-time favorites, I thought it was only fitting to round up the 10 Best Snacks at Walt Disney World. Because let’s be honest… the snacks alone are reason enough to plan your next visit.

I didn’t want to load down this list with all of the classics. Mickey Ice Cream Bars, Popcorn, Pretzels, and Churros can be found at multiple kiosks in all of the parks, but I had to include Dole Whip because, of all of Disney’s snack options, it’s by far my favorite. It has all the sweetness of soft-serve ice cream, but it’s gluten-free, dairy-free, and it’s pineapple flavored, alongside being only 80 calories! In some places you can get it with rum, swirled with vanilla soft-serve, in pineapple juice, or even on pineapple upside-down cake. Whenever I’m at Disney, I make sure to have at least one Dole Whip a day. After all, when it comes to food, vacation calories don’t really count, right?

Those Norwegians know how to make a treat. The entire bakery in the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT is filled with delicious delicacies, but the schoolbread is my favorite. It’s like a donut, but better: fried dough filled with pastry creme and rolled in coconut. We usually grab some to-go as we leave EPCOT for the night and bring them back to the hotel for breakfast in the morning; just ask a cast member to put them in a plastic container for you!

If you’re craving a little taste of New Orleans without the late-night crowds, head to Port Orleans French Quarter. Their famous beignets alone are worth the trip, even if you’re not staying at the resort! And here’s a bonus for families with food sensitivities: they offer an incredible gluten-free version, so everyone can indulge in a little powdered-sugar magic.

If you have a free afternoon, make sure to plan a nice lunch in Disney Springs, do a little shopping, and take the boat over to Port Orleans. If you plan it right, you can enjoy a sugary treat and a show if Yeeha Bob is performing at Port Orleans Riverside!

I have a confession to make: I’m not a huge cinnamon roll fan. I know, I know! My brothers love to make the ones in a Pillsbury can, and my husband always gets them from bakeries, but I would much rather have something else… except at Gaston’s Tavern. These cinnamon rolls are UNREAL! They’re about the size of your head (yes, really!) and indescribably delicious. I would recommend skipping Lefou’s brew and pairing it with some tea, coffee, or water to avoid a sugar coma.
Picture this: your choice of cold ice cream and delicious topping sandwiched in between warm bread. Can you get any better than that? This is one snack you won’t find on many other best snack lists because not very many people know about it. Once you do, forget about every other snack in EPCOT and make a beeline for the Artisans de Glace in the France Pavilion. You get to choose your ice cream from over 20 flavors, pair it with caramel, chocolate, or strawberry sauce, and can even watch them press it between the brioche! I like to keep it simple: vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. Just make sure to grab a ton of napkins!
Another major plus for croque glace (and treats from any other specialty ice cream spot) is that each sweet treat offers great value if you’re using a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. Each snack credit is worth around $6, so if you use a snack credit to buy something valued higher than $6, you can save a little cash, too! Check out the video for more tasty treats that offer equally-tantalizing value!

Okay, okay—so maybe not everyone shares my sweet tooth. I promise, I’m getting to the savory stuff! At the very top of my must-have list: the corn dog nuggets from Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom. Maybe it’s the nostalgia talking, but there’s just something special about grabbing a tray of those golden little bites, finding a spot on Main Street, and people-watching as you wait for the parade or fireworks to start. Unfortunately, they’re no longer a snack credit on the dining plan, but you can still pair them with fries and use a quick-service credit.
I couldn’t quite narrow these down to one type in one location. On one hand, there’s a cart in Adventureland that has cheeseburger eggrolls, traditional vegetarian, and a rotating specialty flavor (right now, it’s Reuben with corned beef and sauerkraut). On the other hand, the Joy of Tea in the China Pavilion has traditional pork and vegetable egg rolls that easily top anything from your local delivery joint, and you can also get something similar at the Yak & Yeti Local Food Carts in Animal Kingdom. Basically, if you need a savory snack, reach for an egg roll!
Hollywood Studios may not have the iconic Disney egg rolls when that craving hits—but honestly, the snacks here more than make up for it. My top pick? The Ronto Wrap from Ronto Roasters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Picture a smoky, kielbasa-style sausage (about the size of a hot dog) wrapped in soft, warm naan-style bread and topped with the perfect mix of savory goodness. The breakfast version even includes eggs! And trust me, it’s worth every penny out of pocket, even though it’s not eligible for a snack credit. If you do have a snack credit to use, grab a serving of their sweet or spicy jerky from the same spot—it’s a fun, flavorful bite that’s perfect for fueling your next adventure through Batuu.

Another Hollywood Studios favorite? The Totchos from Woody’s Lunchbox. They’re loaded potato barrels (more commonly known as their trademark tater tots)! Honestly, “loaded tater tots” might be all the convincing you need, but if not, picture this: crispy tots piled high with chili, queso, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and a sprinkle of chives. There’s even a breakfast version topped with eggs instead of chili that’s just as irresistible. And if you can’t wait until your next Disney trip to try them, you can always try this copycat Totchos recipe from Life Family Joy!

Most of the year, EPCOT is hosting a festival and while they have different focuses depending on the season, one thing they have in common is food booths sprinkled around the world showcase. In the winter it is the Festival of the Arts celebrating theater, visual, and culinary arts where every snack is a masterpiece. My favorite is the White Chocolate and Purple Sweet Potato Mousse, Caramel, Coconut, and Maple Meringue. The Flower and Garden Festival in the spring focuses on farm to table, locally grown cuisine they usually have incredible macarons, and the violet lemonade that is so famous it has its own apparel collection. The fall is where the magic really happens during the FOOD and wine festival, where the focus is on international cuisine. This is where you will find more booths than the others and exponentially more options. These are small tasting sizes so you can sample more as you move around the park. There is SO much that if you are traveling during this time plan to spend more than one day in EPCOT so you can try as much as possible. Look at the festival guide before you go so you can flag your must-try items so you don’t get too full before you get to the booth. My perennial favorites are the cheddar cheese soup and wild mushroom filet in Canada, croissant escargot in France, and the maple bourbon cheesecake. THEN in December, you will find even bigger servings with a holiday twist at the Festival of the Holidays, where they celebrate international winter holiday traditions. What is more important at the holidays than the food you share with your family and family? Check out the video below for my favorites from this past year.
EPCOT is basically a year-round foodie paradise, thanks to its rotating festivals. Each one celebrating something different, but all united by one thing: amazing food. Nearly every season brings a new reason (and menu!) to stroll the World Showcase, sampling delicious bites from around the globe.
In winter, the Festival of the Arts celebrates theater, visual, and culinary arts and turns every dish into a masterpiece. My favorite? The White Chocolate and Purple Sweet Potato Mousse with caramel, coconut, and maple meringue. It’s as gorgeous as it is delicious.
Spring brings the Flower & Garden Festival, which highlights local, farm-to-table flavors. I always look forward to the macarons (they’re incredible!) and, of course, the famous violet lemonade. It even has its own apparel collection!
But fall is when the real magic happens during the Food & Wine Festival. With more booths than any other time of year, it’s an international tasting adventure. The portions are perfectly sized for sampling, so plan to spend at least two days in EPCOT if you really want to try it all. Before you go, check the festival guide and flag your must-try items so you don’t fill up too fast. My go-tos? The cheddar cheese soup and wild mushroom filet in Canada, the croissant escargot in France, and the maple bourbon cheesecake.
Then, just when you think it can’t get any better, December arrives with the Festival of the Holidays, celebrating winter traditions (and flavors!) from around the world. Think heartier portions, festive twists, and plenty of cozy treats to share with your favorite travel companions. After all, what’s more important during the holiday season than the food you share with your friends and family?
I haven’t had the chance to try this one yet, but it absolutely deserves a spot on my list because it’s the snack I’m most excited about! Eight Spoon Café, a little kiosk on Discovery Island in Animal Kingdom, has a reputation for serving up some seriously crave-worthy bites. A few years ago, they had an open-faced BLT with pimento cheese that was unforgettable, so I already know these are going to be amazing. You can choose from three versions: classic mac & cheese, mac topped with pulled pork, or mac loaded with sweet chili shrimp. Honestly, I’m already counting down the days until I can taste them all!
The best part about Disney dining is that it’s not one-size-fits-all—and that’s where I come in. The Disney Dining Plan can be a fantastic way to save money and simplify your vacation, but it’s not the right fit for everyone. It all depends on your family’s eating habits, where you plan to dine, and how you like to vacation.
If you’re wondering whether the Dining Plan will actually save your family money or if you’d be better off paying out of pocket, I can help you run the numbers and make the best decision for your trip. Together, we’ll create a dining strategy that makes every snack, meal, and moment at Disney worth savoring.
